Tree owners have a duty of care obligation in law to manage trees on their land, to ensure their trees do not pose an unacceptable risk.
This Duty of Care arises from the Occupiers Liability Acts of 1957 and 1984. A landowner or occupier must ensure that their trees are in a safe condition and mitigate excessive risk to site occupiers and third parties.
We use evidence-based risk management methodologies such as QTRA (Quantified Tree Risk Assessment) and THREATS (Tree Hazard Risk Evaluation and Treatment System) to identify, record and manage tree hazards.
- Zoning tree populations by site occupancy levels optimises the level of survey detail required, reducing costs and works recommendations for lower use areas.
- The use of evidence-based and repeatable methodologies puts you in a position of confidence that you have fulfilled your legal duty of care as a tree owner or manager.
- We have the confidence to minimise unnecessary tree removals and remedial works where safe to do so thereby saving you valuable resources.
